Casa Sofia is completely independent and has a terrace with a typical Canarian pergola with a barbecue. It also features a private pool and sun loungers to enjoy the climate of Tenerife.
Casa Sofia is located in the romantic and quiet village in the South of Tenerife in the Municipality of Granadilla de Abona, called Las Vegas. Surrounded by ravines and abundant vegetation, Casa Sofia offers a unique and exclusive space, far from areas of mass tourism. However, guests can enjoy all services: shops, restaurants, bars just a few kilometers away.
In the surroundings, there are several natural sites, with Teide National Park standing out, allowing the practice of numerous outdoor activities. El Médano and Los Abrigos, just 20 minutes from the house, are old fishing villages that boast the best natural beaches on the island and offer the possibility of water sports and a variety of gastronomic offerings. The municipality now has a new trekking trail, called "Circular Las Vegas," of singular beauty with the following features: The municipality of Granadilla de Abona is one of the largest in the South of Tenerife. It extends, to the east, to the Barranco del Río in Arico, and to the west, it is separated from San Miguel by the Orchilla. To the north, the summit is dotted with steep cliffs such as El Almendro, El Sombrerito, Ucanca, and Montaña de Guajara (2718m), forming part of the back wall of Las Cañadas, which runs south until it meets Montaña Roja, Escachada, or Pelada bordering the coast. The trail described below is a circular route that starts from the Caserío de Las Vegas and connects several traditional paths running through the highlands of the municipality. These paths traverse an area of marked rural character, nowadays clearly abandoned, where traditional island crops can be observed, inserted in a natural environment increasingly dominated by the Canarian pine. The nucleus of Las Vegas is currently in good condition, being one of the few places that still maintain the marked rural character that the highlands of South Tenerife once had, with good examples of Canarian architecture and a rich traditional culture. The path ascends through Guajara Street, leaving the hamlet of Las Vegas and entering a more natural environment. Traditional houses give way to colonizing vegetation where the Canarian pine begins to dominate the landscape, surrounded by tagasastes and rockroses. Diverting from the path that climbs to the summit "Altos de Granadilla," we take the so-called Camino del Molino, where small abandoned terraces can occasionally be seen in some ravines. The path continues towards the Barranco Seco, descending via a zigzagging trail until reaching its bed, where we can observe how the cut of the ravine reveals the different eruptive episodes that formed this part of the island. We return to the hamlet of Las Vegas where this circular route ends, concluding in this singular environment that still remains in the highlands of the south of Tenerife.
